1953 Vintage Rolex Oyster Perpetual Explorer 6150 Gilt Dial with Military Clearance Diver Engraving
Case & Bracelet
Excellent case that shows light wear from use. The smooth stainless bezel is also in excellent condition and shows light wear. The original domed crystal shows significant crazing when viewed from certain angles. The caseback is engraved with military markings.
The case back is engraved “H. S. 10 CD”, which stand for HS = Hydrographic Service HS 10 = waterproof wrist watch for divers, CD= Clearance Diver, denoting the watch was issued to a British military diver working for the hydrographic services.
New grey NATO strap.
Excellent gilt dial with even and extensive “cloudy night” patina. The markers have turned a warm sandy hue and the hands are matching. The lume glows faintly when exposed to UV and falls off rapidly at the same rate.
The watch is running at COSC spec.
