1979 Vintage Rolex 18K YG Daytona 6265 Champagne Dial with Box and Papers
|Material||18K Yellow Gold|
|Bracelet||18k Swiss Rivet|
Case & Bracelet
Excellent case that shows very light wear from use. There are some markings on the back of the lugs from springbar rub. The 18k bezel is also in excellent condition and shows light wear from use. The 18K gold on the case, bracelet and bezel is developing a light patina from age.
Excellent 18k swiss rivet bracelet with 13 links and 57 end links. The bracelet has light stretch for its age.
Excellent champagne dial that has some light patina around the subdials. The markers have turned a warm sandy hue. The 1 and 4 o’clock are partially shipped off the dial. The hands have turned a warm sandy hue and match the lume plots. Both the dial and hands glow under UV light and drop off quickly which is correct for this period of dial.
Box and punched papers. The sticker on the box and the stamp on the papers is from a Rolex Retailer in Berlin where the watch sold on 10/14/1982. There is a common misconception that the papers Daytonas needs to be chronometer papers but that is false. The clerk punching the papers in the back grabbed a certificate and punched the holes. Original papers where often punched with wrong numbers, without the serial number all together. It’s Berlin in 1982. The wall is up and people wanted to grab a beer instead of worrying about what papers they punched.
The watch is running at COSC spec.
